Some notes that I took at Hillsong Church.
What does it mean to follow Jesus?
- it means you’re on a journey. Jesus is Jesus through joy, sorrow, and even grief. Just because you don’t feel Him, doesn’t mean that He loves you any less or your relationship with Him is deteriorating.
- it means you’re saved by grace & sanctified. “You live from not for” : because you’re saved by grace, you live from that great grace and mercy. You don’t live for the riches of the world. God isn’t a genie in a bottle. You certainly do not live for grace either because you’ve already been saved through grace. You’re also in the process of growing, so you won’t be perfect. You’ll make humanly mistakes and will be driven towards humanly desires. But nonetheless, Jesus saved you knowing that you’ll sin even after you are saved.
- it means you are Holy Spirit-led. Human nature is beastly, therefore you cannot change without the Holy Spirt. The power of Jesus is in you. It is written in the Bible that we, as followers of Christ, are meant to do/perform greater things than what Jesus ever did on this earth.

It has already been 2 years since my aunt passed away. I can’t even explain the effect that it left on my family.
Two years ago, I was in Kansas mourning the loss of my aunt. The plane ride was especially difficult because I was submerged with thoughts of denial and grief. It wasn’t until I saw the open casket where my aunt laid lifelessly, when I broke down into tears. It hurt to see someone you love in something so constraining and morbid. I’ve never felt a pain like that before. Nothing hurts more than losing someone you love so abruptly.
Although the 3 days I stayed in Kansas were days of mourning and grief, it made me appreciate my family. It made me thank God for the great love and support that I have around me. It made me realize that family always comes first. My aunt taught me to love with all that I am, and that is exactly what she left behind; pure love. All the family feuds and anger that once defined our family ceased to exist. Instead, unity and love was substituted in the atmosphere. With death, comes life.
I miss my family in California, Texas, Kansas, and Korea. These are the times when I wish I had the power to teleport. But most of all, I miss my aunt.
I thank God for my family every day.
I honestly can’t trust anyone. Blame me for trusting the ones that I felt most vulnerable to. My apologizes.. should’ve known that every single person is quite full of bs. Don’t tell me that you miss me and that you want me back because quite frankly, you don’t. Don’t tell me that you understand because you actually don’t. Kinda sick of being disappointed, let down, and hurt by the people that I called a family.

It feels like we’ve been SuperBuds for quite a while now and I’m really glad that we get to spend the next 4 years together!! WOOHOO! Although you’re mean to me sometimes, I’m glad that I had the chance to meet you before we start school together. Get ready for an awesomeeeee year with me! You’re probably going to hate me by the end of next year, but it’s fine. Your NorthKorean face kinda creeps me out and makes me laugh…it’s pretty painful.. haha. Please don’t troll me next year.. I take enough trolling at school already ): wrah. Well, I really hope we become the greatest SuperBuds next year..
